Big Little Lies was optioned by Nicole Kidman and her Blossom Films production banner partner Per Saari, along with Reese Witherspoon and Bruna Papandrea and their Pacific Standard banner. The first season aired on HBO from February 19, 2017 to April 2, 2017.
The show stars and is executive produced by Oscar winners Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman. The script for the first season was written by David E. Kelley. Jean-Marc Vallée directed all episodes of the first season.
The series started production for a second season during March 2018, due to the high demand and success of the show.[1] It aired from June 9, 2019 to July 21, 2019. Andrea Arnold directed all episodes of the second season.
Premise
Based on Liane Moriarty’s bestselling book, and featuring Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, and Shailene Woodley, this darkly comedic series tells the tale of three mothers whose seemingly perfect lives unravel to the point of murder.[2]

A soundtrack for the first season was released on Google Play and iTunes on March 31, 2017. A physical copy of the soundtrack was released on June 30, 2017.

The first season was released on DVD and Blu-ray on August 1, 2017.
Confirmation of Second Season
On March 1, 2018, it was confirmed that the show would be returning for a second season, due to the high demand and success of the first. It returned on June 9, 2019.[3]
